It has been a while since I have been able to spend anytime on the site due to computer problems. I am a mom to four wonderful children and the youngest son of 8yrs is on the autism spectrum. I hope you have had a great summer! I do have a facebook page but, am trying to decide whether to shut it down or not since I started my blog on pur family's experiences with autism. It is more therapeutic that facebook! LOL ((hugs))

For some years, I´ve been working for autism. On one side, developing free books with pictograms in www.aprendicesvisuales.com.
On the other side, "fighting" agains the use of the term "autism" related to negative connotations. We are developing an international event on September to send a letter to all media in the same day. If you want to join us, we are on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/accionescon tralosmitosdelautismo
Best!

I'm Jen, mom of 3. Sebastian 16 is legally blind, has a seizure disorder and severe spastic quad CP. Emily 8 is my mild autism, mild cp kiddo. Mason 6 is my "typical" child. I really haven't found many people with a similar mix in there home. I push social stuff with my kids. Sebastian and Emily participate in special olympics. ( mason is just waiting to coach ) I am on the board of a wonderful non-profit Challenged Athletes Participating in Sports, Inc. (CAPS) They play hockey , soccer, basketball, and Baseball with CAPS. I coach their team. Mason is a Buddy for CAPS. They also do movie nights, dances, boat trips, holiday parties and whatever else we think up. see the website for more info www.capswny.com . I have recently started coaching a special needs cheer team with the help of my favorite lil boy cheerleader Mason. He actually was the one to mention it to me. After Sebastian and Emily saw Masons team compete, I knew I had to do it. Looking forward to talking with all of you0 points
