Yes Disney claims it is the happiest place on Earth but when dealing with Autism Plan plan plan. although, they have a very progressive care team, there are still lessons to be learned. Enjoy.

Best holiday ever! We were able to get a Guest Assistance Pass (available from City Hall in Disneyland or Guest Services in California Adventure Park) and bypass long line-ups - no documentation needed we just told them our son had Autism and they were sooo accomodating . . . he loved every minute of it. We have been twice since our son's diagnosis - it truly is the happiest place on earth! Highly recommend it for a holiday!

This is a wonderful place for the senses for all ages of kids...we big kids enjoy it too! I have visited The Children's Museum quite a few times since moving to Indianapolis. One time though, T escaped the building while we were there with only 2 kids and 3 adults, one of which was an ABA therapist! It was so incredibly scary, because it happened in a matter of seconds and he was out the door all the way from a third floor down...the security in there, once alerted was superb!! They have a very good set-up for locating lost children thankfully and he was back with us in minutes. Overall, I would definitely recommend this for families and children with autism, but keep a close watch on your child if they like to escape! I would also suggest going on an off time during the week, they have free days too, and ease your child into the setting if they have anxiety over new or large places. There is a food court or you can pack a lunch. The toddler area was a favorite and not as overwhelming for my kids when they were smaller, and it is self-contained, and sort of a combination of the theme of a lot of what the museum is all about, very hands on and fun for the little ones!

Well, I am reviewing our lovely parks here in Indy, and I am bit biased! But I believe that Indiana is way under-rated for natural resources and recreation...many people overlook the free or almost free state and local nature trails all around the area! The landscape is diverse and gorgeous, from rolling woodlands, to marshlands with walkways for viewing wetland creatures, bike paths, to lush forests with ponds, lakes and varied terrain, Indianapolis area parks have most everything you could want for a wonderful day outside! Outside Indianapolis metro you can find some even more varied terrain with limestone cliffs, caves and foothills of the mountains that are just down to the south of us in Kentucky. Of my favorite parks I have been to in the Indy park system, Holliday Park, Eagle Creek Park, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Falls Park in Pendleton, Potter's Bridge park are up there on my list. My son T is an avid hiker and stream explorer, so we love them all!
